Yep, working on another book. A fun tale about a young woman who finds out that there are many strange events in life, most of which lead to new love and adventure. Would love to have you check out the first 3 chapters and leave your thoughts. Click here for “Off the Hook”. Will let everyone know when it is finished. May even throw a party! Just Say'n

Think opposite sometimes

I was with this person the other day who just didn’t like anything. I mean anything. Didn’t like getting up, going to bed, walking, riding, etc. They just thought life sucked. It’s sad when you meet people like that, but sometimes you just need to leave them alone before they pull you down in the mud with them.

Over the years I’ve learned to try to balance my thinking by going to the opposite thought. Looking around me I realized that life has a harmony about it. If there is a right, there has to be a left. If there is up, there is going to be down. Front, back; In, out. You get the picture.

So if I am feeling down about something, I need to balance it with an up thought. For example, I messed up something the other day and proclaimed to myself, “I’m an idiot.” At the moment, the statement had some merit, but it was only half the story. My balance statement was “I’m very cleaver.” Both statements are true, so why just dwell in the negative? There are probably a lot of things we have done wrong in our life, so isn’t it refreshing to know we have done so many good things too. Just Say’n

Sunday Sundae

I’m not a big sweet eater, but I sometimes like to dive into a big, chocolate covered, sprinkles on top,  whip-cream drenched Sundae. I do also like blueberry pie. Hmmm, warm apple pie is great too. Cheesecake is definitely a winner. Okay, so maybe I do like sweet things.
Anyhow, I began to wonder why we call it a Sundae. Found out the in the 1800’s the religious folks decided that an ice-cream soda was decadent and should not be served on Sundays. An ice-cream soda is chocolate syrup, ice-cream, and club soda. The local ice-cream shop decided it would be less decadent if they removed the soda and just serve ice-cream and chocolate syrup. To make it more holy, they called the concoction a “Sundae” in honor of the day it was served, “Sunday”.
Seems to me the only thing NOT decadent in an ice-cream soda is the soda, but somehow they got away with it.
Whew, that was a lot of writing. Think I better go get something sweet to eat. Just Say’n.

Today

Today is a great day. It is the only today I will ever have because it will become yesterday when I reach tomorrow.
I have concluded that if I spend too much time thinking about yesterday, I will not enjoy today.
On the other hand, if I spend all my time worrying about tomorrow, I will once again not enjoy today.
So my intention is to simply enjoy today! So far - so good. Just Say’n.

Good bye old friend

So many good memories. My dog Simba was a friend, companion, and recipient of some one sided conversation about the different dimensions and conflicts of life. He always listened, always love, and was always there when I came home. I will miss you old friend. Enjoy the next part of your journey.

Happy Birthday Janetta

Birthdays are a strange event in a persons life. To me, they are a happening that I go through, preferably on a deserted island. Not that I mind getting older, it is just a more private time for me.

However, my wife is a different creature entirely. She begins to remind everyone that her birthday is going to be here soon. To her, soon means in the next few months. The closer we get, the more excited she becomes.

Her Birthday begins a few days before the actual day and continues for at least a week after. It is really fun to watch her excitement during this time of celebration.

What is even better is to know that her love of life will continue well beyond the celebration of the event. Happy Birthday my wonderful wife, and may you have at least 100 more.

Just Say'n I Love You.

Readers’ hearts will be beating hard as they join in this adventure where people come back from the dead, wear so many facades you’re not quite sure who’s on the good or bad side of the law, while experiencing the growing attraction between the lady ‘cop’ who could be lying through her teeth and the normally bored psychologist who stepped into the adventure of a lifetime.

The author, a practicing psychotherapist, certainly knows how to light a fire at the beginning of a tale and guide the reader through all types of personalities and red herrings that will make them very disappointed when the story has to come to an end.

Quill Says: This is one psychologist who has met his match when it comes to a truly astonishing female!
