Self acceptance

Talking to people, I’m often fascinated with the level of disrespect many have toward themselves. I think a lot of the anger in our society is an attempt by others to make people around them feel as miserable about life as they do.
For example, if I dont like who I am, then you become a threat. Not that you did anything, just the fact that you exist bothers me, because you may seem to be happy, and I am not. Therefore, let me make you unhappy so I feel better.
After thousands of years of evolvoing as the human species, it often seem we haven’t come very far.

One of the things I use in my practice is the aspect of U.S.A.. In this case, U.S.A. stands for Unconditional Self Acceptance. That means a person will accept who they are without judgement. I am a wonderful person and I am also a person who has not so wonderful aspects. I love humor but I also have a dark side. It is just who I am. No judgement, just observation.

Try it sometime when your inner voice tells you all the bad things about yourself. Just say, “Yep that’s true” and then remember that the opposite is also part of you. It is just who we are. If we accept ourselves without condemnation, then we won’t have to dump all our junk on others. Just say’n.

Mr. Peanut

One of my weaknesses in life is the salted peanut. I don’t know if they’re healthy or unhealthy; I like them too much to do research. I might find something bad about them, so I just stay ignorant.
However, I was looking at Mr. Peanut, the logo on the Planters Peanut can, and I became somewhat concerned about the statement he is making. If you ran into someone on the street who wore a tophat, monocle, gloves, shoes, and nothing else,  I think we would call the police.
A quick assessment would suggest he must have bad vision in only one eye, obviously has some problem walking which calls for a cane, is a blatant exibitionist, and is delusional enought to be happy about it all.
I think I will just enjoy the peanuts and put the can away. Just Say’n.

Duct tape

I saw this picture and decided there are people in the world who are just plain dumb. Can you immagine the pain that took place when this idiot decided to take the duct tape off? I mean you can’t get that glue to unstick no matter what you use. Besides, what a terrible waste of good duct tape. I have come to the conclusion that we could probably solve a lot of problems in Washington if we just duct taped a lot of mouths.

Duct tape was developed during WWII to keep ammunition dry and has evolved to a standard household item for fixing anything. It has even become part of the space program. Check this out: In a 2001 NASA manual for spaceflight operations aboard the International Space Station, duct tape is even called for in case of “acutepsychosis” during a space mission; NASA procedures call for its use to restrain the affected astronaut

In addition, duct tape was used to repair one of the lunar vehicles during a walk on the moon.
So next time you feel like your world is falling apart, go for the duct tape. Just say'n

Readers’ hearts will be beating hard as they join in this adventure where people come back from the dead, wear so many facades you’re not quite sure who’s on the good or bad side of the law, while experiencing the growing attraction between the lady ‘cop’ who could be lying through her teeth and the normally bored psychologist who stepped into the adventure of a lifetime.

The author, a practicing psychotherapist, certainly knows how to light a fire at the beginning of a tale and guide the reader through all types of personalities and red herrings that will make them very disappointed when the story has to come to an end.

Quill Says: This is one psychologist who has met his match when it comes to a truly astonishing female!
