AGING PROCESS

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- An elderly New Hampshire man is accused of stabbing his 81-year-old roommate in an argument over the volume on their television.

I read this the other day and thought about how anger can make us do stupid things. I guess the good thing about getting older is we just don’t have to care about other peoples opinions as much as we used to. However, I think there has to be a better way to decide about the volume on the TV.
Part of the aging process is the loss of flexibility, both physically and psychologically. Not only do I periodically find pain in places that I didn’t know could hurt, but I also find my level of patience with things is not as long. I sometimes have lengthy not so nice evaluations for people who drive crazy, walk without looking where they are going or simply act in obnoxious ways.
Fortunately, these moments pass quickly as I truly believe life is to short to waste time being upset.

I think this is a good prayer for the aging process:
God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked,
The good fortune to run into the ones I do,
And the eyesight to tell the difference.

Readers’ hearts will be beating hard as they join in this adventure where people come back from the dead, wear so many facades you’re not quite sure who’s on the good or bad side of the law, while experiencing the growing attraction between the lady ‘cop’ who could be lying through her teeth and the normally bored psychologist who stepped into the adventure of a lifetime.

The author, a practicing psychotherapist, certainly knows how to light a fire at the beginning of a tale and guide the reader through all types of personalities and red herrings that will make them very disappointed when the story has to come to an end.

Quill Says: This is one psychologist who has met his match when it comes to a truly astonishing female!
