Danger in isle 5

Food shopping with my wife is an experience. You have to understand that she doesn't always approach life like other people, for which I am eternally grateful.
When we go food shopping, she keeps me on my toes by periodically throwing something at me. One time she threw a potato just as our minister's wife came around the corner. As the woman passed me she touched my shoulder and said "we are praying for you".

The other day I was in another isle and as I came around the corner, she was ducking behind a stack of paper towel roles. She periodically will hide and then jump out at me, but this time I saw her. So I quietly walked over to the stack of paper towels and pushed them over on her. Got her that time.

I think the store is relieved when we finally go home. Hey, just because we are getting older doesn't mean we're getting more mature. Just Say'n

Gas Wars

OMG - here we go again. Gas is on its way to $5.00 a gallon. We were here last year and you know what our leaders did about it. Nothing. And you know what they will do about it this time. Nothing.
The good news is -  our leaders are predictable. The bad news is - our leaders are predictable.
But we’re all a little off the track. Next time your out driving, look at how many SUV’s are on the road. Maybe that’s why we elect leaders who don’t pay attention to a problem. Just Say'n

Getten High

I got high today.

Happened this morning when I said to my wife that I really loved her.
She turned, looked me in the eye, smiled and said. “Not as much as I love you.”

And that’s when I got high.

What is, is

Listening to some people the other day as they talked about their lives.
Seemed to me they were spending a lot of time worrying about what might happen in the future,
and then filled the spaces in between with being depressed about what had happened in the past.

I decided two things,

 1. I didn't want to listen to them anymore
 2. It is a lot better if we just live with three words,  What is, is.

Cant change the past, and sure don't know what the future holds, but I do know that right now, what is, is.
And as far as I am concerned, it is good.

Adult Children

Watched some children on a playground the other day.
One wanted to come down the slide.
Another was at the bottom wanting to climb up to the top.
They fought about this until one finally came down and ran into the one climbing up.
Then they both fell off the slide and started crying.
Obviously, this was not what they planned for the playground.

Later,  I turned on the news and watched two Senators fighting with each others about some stupid bill.
Turned the news off. I knew how that would end. I saw it on the play ground.

Give me your tired and your poor

Mitt Romney says he is not concerned about the very poor. He later clarified that he believed the poor had a safety net below to protect them. I guess my concern is what Mitt considers “Poor”. With a net worth of $250 million and an average income of $46 million, the term “poor” could mean a lot of different things.
It is interesting that if we took the net worth of the last eight American presidents, total them together, and multiplied it by two, the sum would still be below Mitt’s net worth.
When I look at my net worth vs. Mitt’s, I worry if he is lumping me in with the poor he is not concerned about. Just Say'n

Cats

We have a couple cats living next door. I guess I should say they feed next door and really live anyplace they want to live.
Cats are the most independent things I have ever run across. They always treat you like they are in charge and you better do things their way.
I drove up to my house the other day and one of the neighbor cats was sitting on my front porch sunning himself. I got out of the car and walked to my door and the cat never moved, but the look on his face said “What the hell do you think you doing by waking me up? Go away.” Being obdient, I went away.
However, yesterday I walked out the door and must have surprised the cat, because he turned quickly and ran into the wall. He hit it hard, but never let on that it hurt. He just turned his back on me and walked away as if to say “I meant to hit the wall. It was part of my plan.”
In my mind I see him sitting someplace rubbing his head with his paw and saying, “Damn that hurt.”
I really have to stop paying so much attention to these cats. It is affecting my brain. Just Say'n

Readers’ hearts will be beating hard as they join in this adventure where people come back from the dead, wear so many facades you’re not quite sure who’s on the good or bad side of the law, while experiencing the growing attraction between the lady ‘cop’ who could be lying through her teeth and the normally bored psychologist who stepped into the adventure of a lifetime.

The author, a practicing psychotherapist, certainly knows how to light a fire at the beginning of a tale and guide the reader through all types of personalities and red herrings that will make them very disappointed when the story has to come to an end.

Quill Says: This is one psychologist who has met his match when it comes to a truly astonishing female!
