Seagulls

Decided to sit on my boat and write some blog thoughts today. It is beautiful out here and the only distractions are the seagulls. They really are kind of a stupid bird. Just watched one fly up and sit on the top of a pole. He (or maybe she, can’t tell) had a crab in his mouth and was really proud. Guess he decided to let his friends know so he opened his mouth and squaked. Yep, you guessed it, the crab fell back into the water. Not the brightest bird.
However, I read that in WWI, at the start of submarine warfare, British Admiral Sir Fredrick Inglefield RN decided that he could train Seagulls to defecate on periscopes and stop the enemy from seeing what was on the surface. The Royal Navy actually went along with this for almost a year and then terminated both the project and Admiral Sir Fredrick Inglefield RN. Guess the seagull isn’t the only stupid bird out there.
