Getting in the car the other day, I suddenly realized that I was making a strange new sound. It was a guttural groan set off by my putting my body behind the steering wheel of my car. I have been getting in and out of cars for a long time, but I don’t remember making this sound.
I watched myself get out of the car when I arrived at my destination and sure enough, I made the same sound. Now very aware of this phenomena, I listened as I walked up the stairs, kneeled down to pick up a sock, got out of bed in the morning, sat in a chair, got out of the chair, and several other places where I had to bend or stretch my body.
This sound must be because of global warming or something. I don’t think it has anything to do with my body getting older. Just say'en
